Short Itinerary

Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Srinagar and Drive to Sukhnai (7,800 ft)

Arrive at Srinagar and depart early for Sukhnai village, the starting point of the trek. The scenic 10-hour drive takes you through Anantnag, Daksum, and Margan Top, providing stunning views of Kashmir’s lush landscapes. Overnight stay at Sukhnai in a local guesthouse or camp.

Day 2: Sukhnai to Chaudraiman (11,150 ft) – 11 km

The trek begins with a gradual ascent along meadows and river streams. Cross wooden bridges and make your way to the Chaudraiman campsite, surrounded by alpine beauty.

Day 3: Chaudraiman to Basmina (12,500 ft) – 8 km

Today’s trek offers incredible views as you walk through lush valleys and ascend toward Basmina. The trail passes through streams and meadows blooming with wildflowers. Camp overnight at Basmina.

Day 4: Basmina to Humpet (13,000 ft) – 9 km

A moderate climb brings you to Humpet. This section of the trek offers breathtaking views of glacier-fed rivers and snow-capped peaks. Set up camp in Humpet, a serene campsite ideal for star-gazing.

Day 5: Humpet to Lomvilad Pass (14,500 ft) and Down to Kaintal (12,500 ft) – 10 km

Trek to the highest point of the journey at Lomvilad Pass, offering panoramic views of the Zanskar Range. After enjoying the views, descend to Kaintal, where you’ll camp by a beautiful stream.

Day 6: Kaintal to Panikhar (11,500 ft) – 12 km

The final trekking day is a long but scenic descent through forests and meadows, leading to Panikhar village in the Suru Valley. Stay overnight at a local guesthouse or camp.

Day 7: Drive from Panikhar to Srinagar

Begin your return journey with a scenic drive through Kargil and Sonamarg, eventually reaching Srinagar. The stunning views along the way make this long drive worthwhile.

  1. Mules or porter to carry personal luggage.
  2. Hotel Stay in Srinagar.
  3. Food during the transit.

  6. A pair of trekking shoes or waterproof sports shoes

  5. 1 waterproof, wind-proof jacket (Please make sure this is a warm jacket and not just a windcheater.)
  6. 2 pairs thermals (uppers and lowers)
  7. 3 pairs of sock
  8. 1-2 pairs woolen socks
  9. Woolen cap
  10. Woolen gloves
  11. 1 woolen scarf

FOR TOILET AND BATHROOM

We use hygienic dry toilet tent during the trek because of minimum water availability. Carry additional things by yourself like hand sanitizer, wet wipes, tissues, etc.
